I think it looks great, the leaves were a bit seasonal, but this is more timeless. I like that it is a more modern as well....one thing I might change is the font for the quote. Right now it is a bit hard to read and something less scripty (I just made that word up) would match the new layout a bit better.
To be honest I am envious of your blog's name, as I obviously wasn't very creative with mine. You can definitely tell who is a writer and who isn't when you read your blog and mine!
I hope you don't mind the critique its from my long ago "designing" days before motherhood.
